Tamarac will honor local military veterans with the unveiling of a new Veterans Honor Wall panel during its annual Veterans Day ceremony on Wednesday, Nov. 11.
The public ceremony begins at 10:30 a.m. at Veterans’ Memorial Park, 7825 Southgate Blvd. Residents will also have an opportunity to support unhoused veterans by bringing essential supplies. The event combines the city’s continuing recognition of military service with a community collection organized through the Tamarac Veterans Affairs Committee.

The city will unveil its 14th hand-etched glass panel as part of the ceremony. According to Tamarac’s October 27 announcement, the existing Veterans Honor Wall features more than 1,000 engraved names. Retired Army Maj. Will Rodriguez will deliver the keynote address. The city identifies Rodriguez as a West Point graduate who served more than 20 years as an infantry officer, including leading combat units during Operation Desert Storm. The program will also feature a presentation of colors led by Tamarac Fire Rescue, music by the Miamians and remarks from dignitaries.
Following the ceremony, the Tamarac Veterans Affairs Committee will collect nonperishable food, toiletries, socks and hand towels for unhoused veterans. Residents can also bring donations to the Parks and Recreation Administration Building at 6001 Nob Hill Road, Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Questions about the collection can be directed to VeteransCommittee@Tamarac.gov. The ceremony is listed in the city’s 2026 holiday and seasonal events guide, which confirms the November 11 date, 10:30 a.m. start and Southgate Boulevard location. On-site parking will be available at the park. City offices will be closed that day in observance of Veterans Day. Residents seeking additional event information can call Tamarac Parks and Recreation at 954-597-3620 or visit the city’s special events page.
