Broward Sheriff’s Office’s Community Disposal Events Are Back

Safety

The Broward Sheriff’s Office will resume their popular Medicine Cabinet and Shred-a-Thon events this month. The events will allow BSO to further prevent drug abuse and identity theft in Broward County. “We’re proud to provide these free services to protect our community,” said Sherriff Tony Gregory.

On July 17 at the Deerfield Fire Station #66, 590 S Powerline Rd., Deerfield Beach, 33442, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. residents can unload their medicine cabinet of all unwanted, expired, or unused medications. BSO promises a safe disposal and a $5 gift card as long as supplies are available. No syringes or needles will be accepted.

Residents can also have BSO shred any of their receipts, credit card offers, check stubs, and/or any material that is likely to have sensitive or important information. Each household is allowed to bring two boxes for shredding that are no more than 16 inches long, 12 inches wide, and 12 inches high.
