Broward Health has appointed Kristina Fueyo as the vice president of growth and physician strategies. Based in Fort Lauderdale, Fueyo will spearhead efforts to expand clinical services, improve patient access, and strengthen physician networks throughout the region.
Fueyo’s appointment brings over two decades of healthcare leadership experience to Broward Health. Her previous role as assistant vice president of growth strategy and network optimization for HCA East Florida saw her lead initiatives that bolstered physician alignment and patient access across multiple hospitals. Her expertise will be instrumental as she steps into this new role.
“Kristina is skilled at building and expanding physician networks, launching new clinical programs and developing strategies that connect patients more efficiently with the care they need,” said Dane Ficco, CEO of The Broward Health Physician Group. Ficco emphasized that Fueyo’s experience and strategic leadership will be vital as Broward Health continues to improve access to exceptional care for the community.
Fueyo’s educational background includes a master’s degree in healthcare administration and a bachelor’s degree in marketing from Marshall University in West Virginia. She is currently advancing her expertise by pursuing a master’s degree in artificial intelligence and technology, aiming to innovate future healthcare strategies.
Broward Health, established in 1938, is one of the largest public healthcare systems in the U.S. With over 11,000 employees and an operating budget surpassing $2 billion, the system is a cornerstone of the community, providing extensive healthcare services regardless of patients’ ability to pay. This commitment is evident in the over $554 million annually dedicated to charity and uncompensated care.
Fueyo’s leadership is expected to further Broward Health’s mission of delivering exceptional care and extraordinary compassion to the residents of Broward County. Her role will be crucial in driving physician engagement and facilitating patient access to high-quality healthcare services.
