City News Community

Families in Fort Lauderdale are in for a treat as the YMCA of South Florida gears up to host the Little Builders Fun Fest, a free community event at Holiday Park on Saturday, May 2, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. This engaging event celebrates the future Holiday Park YMCA Family Center and the Broward Health Emergency Department, promising a day filled with fun and learning for children and parents alike.

The Little Builders Fun Fest offers a unique chance for families to explore a real construction site while participating in a variety of hands-on activities. Kids can immerse themselves in building challenges like blueprint design, fossil digs, and a construction obstacle course. They can also enjoy touch-a-truck experiences, sign a steel beam, and build with STEAM Mega Blocks. Every young participant will receive a hard hat, construction vest, and a Little Builder certificate, along with snacks, snow cones, and giveaways.

This event not only provides entertainment but also emphasizes family engagement and youth enrichment. By allowing children to interact with the construction site, the YMCA aims to inspire curiosity and creativity, while highlighting the importance of the upcoming community spaces.

The Little Builders Fun Fest is set to make a significant impact on local families, particularly those in Fort Lauderdale neighborhoods. It serves as an opportunity to bring the community together, fostering connections and reducing inequity by providing a free, educational experience for all children.

As the community looks forward to the completion of the new facilities, the event marks a step toward enhancing local resources and supporting family-oriented initiatives.
