More than four years after Travis Holloway was fatally shot in Pompano Beach, Broward Sheriff’s Office homicide detectives are continuing their investigation and asking the public to help bring answers to a case that remains unsolved.

Holloway, 29, was killed on May 21, 2022, after a shooting in the 2800 block of Northwest Fourth Street. Despite the passage of time, investigators have continued seeking information that could help identify the individual or individuals responsible for his death.

In a renewed public appeal in September 2026, BSO announced that Broward Crime Stoppers was offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to an arrest.

A Fatal Shooting in Northwest Pompano Beach

According to the Broward Sheriff’s Office, the shooting occurred on Saturday, May 21, 2022, at approximately 8:30 p.m. Broward County Regional Communications received a call reporting gunfire near the 2800 block of Northwest Fourth Street in Pompano Beach.

BSO district deputies and personnel from Pompano Beach Fire Rescue responded to the scene, where they discovered Holloway suffering from gunshot wounds. Deputies immediately began administering lifesaving measures while emergency medical personnel worked to assist him.

Holloway was transported by paramedics to a nearby hospital. Despite those efforts, he was pronounced dead. Detectives from BSO’s Homicide Unit and Crime Scene Unit responded to investigate the shooting and examine the circumstances surrounding his death. The case was assigned BSO identification number 11-2205-007017.

More Than Four Years Without Answers

The investigation has remained a focus of law enforcement as detectives continue their search for information that could move the case forward. In its September 2026 public appeal, BSO identified the subject or subjects responsible for Holloway’s death as unknown.

Authorities have not publicly identified a suspect in the information released with the renewed appeal, and the department has not provided a detailed account of what investigators believe led to the shooting. Those unanswered questions remain central to the investigation.

The renewed request for information underscores the possibility that people who were in the area, witnessed something unusual, or learned relevant details after the shooting may possess information that investigators have not yet received. BSO is encouraging anyone with knowledge of the incident to come forward, regardless of how much time has passed since Holloway’s death.

Broward Crime Stoppers Offers Reward of Up to $5,000

To encourage members of the public to share information, Broward Crime Stoppers is advertising a reward of up to $5,000 for qualifying anonymous tips that lead to an arrest. Holloway’s homicide remains featured on the organization’s unsolved-crimes website, where residents can review the case and submit information.

The Crime Stoppers program allows individuals to provide tips without revealing their identities. According to the organization, people can submit information by telephone or through its secure online reporting system. Online tip submissions generate a reference number that allows individuals to follow up on their information while remaining anonymous.

The reward is intended to encourage information that could help investigators identify those responsible, but payment is subject to Crime Stoppers’ eligibility requirements.

Investigators Continue Seeking Public Assistance

As the investigation continues, BSO is urging anyone who knows something about the shooting to contact detectives. Individuals do not have to submit information through Crime Stoppers to communicate with investigators. Those willing to speak directly with law enforcement can contact the detective assigned to the case.

BSO identified Homicide Detective Kevin Nitsch as a contact for information relating to Holloway’s death. The department also directs individuals to its SaferWatch application as another way to share information. Although officials have renewed their appeal, the publicly released information does not establish a motive or identify anyone responsible for the killing. Authorities continue seeking credible information that could help advance the investigation.
