For residents heading to the beach with chairs, coolers and family in tow, finding parking can add another layer of planning to a day meant for relaxing.

Pompano Beach’s new Fishing Village Shuttle gives beachgoers another way to make the trip. The free, on-demand service began October 2, 2026, connecting an expanded service area and two park-and-ride locations with the Fisher Family Pier and beach.

In its announcement of the new shuttle, the city said the service was designed to help ease beach parking demand following the W Hotel parking lot closure.

A direct connection to the beach

The Fishing Village Shuttle operates Friday through Sunday and on holidays, from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Residents and visitors within the expanded area, shown in green on the city’s map, can request a pickup from a home or business for a direct trip to the beach, or a return ride.

The green-area service is specifically for those beach connections. It does not provide rides between other stops within the expanded area or between stops at the beach. Pompano’s existing Circuit shuttle continues serving the blue-map area, including beach-area shopping, restaurants and other destinations. That service has its own daily schedule and can be used for getting around the beach area.

Two places to park and catch a ride

People coming from outside the expanded service area can use two free weekend park-and-ride locations:

  • City Hall, 100 W. Atlantic Boulevard.
  • The Old Town parking lot at NE 2nd Street and NE 2nd Avenue.

Riders can leave their vehicles at one of the designated lots and request a direct ride to the Fisher Family Pier and beach. Park-and-ride service follows the new shuttle’s Friday-through-Sunday and holiday schedule, from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. For a family carrying beach supplies or neighbors meeting by the water, the lots offer a place to begin the trip away from beachfront parking.

Requesting a ride and planning ahead

Trips can be requested through the Ride Circuit app, available for Apple and Android devices. Riders must be within a designated service area. The city also allows passengers to wave down a nearby Circuit driver.

Vehicles have room for beach chairs, bags, coolers and other belongings. A wheelchair-accessible shuttle is available upon request; accessibility varies by vehicle. Before heading out, riders can check the city’s Pompano Circuit service page for the map and the different shuttle schedules. Circuit customer service can be reached at 646-504-3733.
