South Florida is set to come alive this October as the Miami Broward Carnival expands its vibrant celebration of Caribbean culture across two weekends in Broward County. Joan Hinkson-Justin, Chairwoman of the Host Committee, emphasized the opportunity to evolve while staying rooted in tradition, inviting both residents and visitors to experience a rich array of cultural festivities.
Kicking off on Saturday, October 3, 2026, the Tamarac Sports Complex will host a free family-friendly event featuring the Junior Carnival and Pan Jamboree. Supported by TD Bank, this event offers a showcase of over eight youth masquerade bands and four steelbands, highlighting the talents of the next generation.
The festivities continue with the debut of the Red Road Fete on Friday, October 9, in Tamarac, leading into the high-energy Official J’ouvert on Saturday, October 10, at Central Broward Park & Broward County Stadium. Hosted by Visit Lauderdale and powered by the City of Lauderhill, this event promises more than 20 paint and powder bands.
The grand finale takes place on Sunday, October 11, with the Miami Broward Carnival Day Parade & Fete. Attendees can expect a spectacular display of over 16 masquerade bands, followed by a major live concert featuring international Caribbean artists, a Food Village, and cultural vendors.
Beyond being a celebration, the carnival significantly boosts South Florida’s economy, supporting local artisans and small businesses within the tourism, hospitality, and creative sectors.
This year’s carnival is made possible through partnerships with the City of Tamarac, City of Lauderhill, and a host of sponsors including Visit Lauderdale and the Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau. Community support is further bolstered by various media and cultural partners.
