DEERFIELD BEACH — A Fort Lauderdale woman accused of living lavishly on stolen funds — including private jet flights, luxury mansion rentals and high-end jewelry — is now behind bars after Broward Sheriff’s Office detectives say she carried out a more than $1.2 million fraud scheme targeting a local business.
According to the Broward Sheriff’s Office, 32-year-old Keshon Litesha Rivers was arrested Wednesday, Feb. 4, following a months-long investigation into financial crimes connected to Event Décor Direct in Deerfield Beach.
Detectives say that between May and August 2025, Rivers used her business, Lock and Key Designs, and an existing working relationship with the company to gain access to accounts and conduct dozens of unauthorized transactions.
Investigators allege the stolen funds were used to finance an extravagant lifestyle, including:
More than $85,000 in gold and diamond jewelry
Over $55,000 for a private jet flight from Fort Lauderdale to Los Angeles
More than $43,000 in mansion rentals in Miami Beach and Los Angeles
To cover the scheme, detectives say Rivers created a fictitious person and blamed that nonexistent individual when fraudulent credit card charges were questioned.
Authorities estimate the total loss to Event Décor Direct exceeds $1.2 million.
Rivers is currently being held in the Broward County Main Jail without bond. She faces charges of organized scheme to defraud, grand theft exceeding $100,000 and money laundering. Investigators also confirmed she is on probation through 2030 in Polk County on similar organized fraud charges.
BSO Detective Christopher Bradley is continuing the investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact him at 954-480-4300.
