Hawkins-Williams now leads Perkins by 1,055 votes, up from a 720-vote advantage in the 7:02:20 p.m. early-voting and vote-by-mail snapshot. That earlier report showed Hawkins-Williams with 1,891 votes, Perkins with 1,171 and Phillips with 254; those figures are an earlier snapshot, not additional votes to add to the 8 p.m. totals.

The contest has attracted significant attention in Northwest Pompano Beach, where the three candidates have campaigned on neighborhood investment, affordable housing, economic development and government accountability.

Hawkins-Williams, a former Florida state representative and Lauderdale Lakes commissioner, is seeking to return to elected office. She has emphasized government experience, community investment and expanding opportunities for residents. Perkins is seeking another term representing District 4, while Phillips has campaigned on housing affordability, economic development and improving access to city resources.

Candidates and supporters have campaigned at early voting locations and engaged residents on the future of District 4. The widening margin gives Hawkins-Williams a stronger lead than in the first returns, but the count remains unofficial and does not establish a final winner.
