Lauderhill residents are invited to come together on two wheels this October as the city hosts a community bicycle ride promoting breast cancer awareness, early detection and health education. The Pink Up Lauderhill Community Bike Ride is scheduled for Thursday, October 29, 2026, from 6 to 7 p.m. at Westwind Park, located at 4550 NW 82nd Avenue in Lauderhill.
Organized by the City of Lauderhill as part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the event will bring residents together for an evening of physical activity, community engagement and information about breast cancer prevention and screening.
Riding together for a cause
According to the City of Lauderhill’s official announcement, the community bike ride will take participants through the streets of Lauderhill, beginning at 6 p.m. In addition to the ride, the event will feature local health vendors, food and entertainment, giving participants opportunities to connect with community resources while supporting a public health cause.
Residents are encouraged to bring their own bicycles. The city will have a limited number of bicycles available on a first-come, first-served basis for those who need them. Participants can register through the city’s official event website.

Promoting education and early detection
Beyond the bicycle ride, Pink Up Lauderhill aims to encourage conversations about breast cancer and the importance of early detection. The city’s event announcement emphasizes education about breast cancer and its effects on people of different ages and sexes, as well as awareness of mammogram screening. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, mammograms are an important screening tool that can help detect breast cancer before symptoms appear.
Screening recommendations vary according to factors such as age, medical history and individual risk. Residents with questions about screening should consult a qualified health care professional. By bringing health education into a community gathering, Lauderhill hopes to encourage residents to learn more about available resources and preventive care.
