In a significant step forward for emergency care in Coral Springs, Broward Health Coral Springs celebrated the unveiling of a new state-of-the-art CT scanner and a renovated EMS breakroom. The ribbon-cutting ceremony was attended by hospital leadership, local officials, and community leaders, marking the hospital’s commitment to enhancing patient care and supporting first responders.

Kristen Bowman, CEO of Broward Health Coral Springs, expressed pride in the hospital’s latest investment. “The dual-source scanner is especially important for our cardiac CTA patients since the dose is significantly less due to the updated software, and with its location in the ER, it will markedly improve our turn-around time,” she said. This new Siemens Pro. Pulse CT scanner provides higher resolution images, faster scanning, and reduced radiation, significantly boosting the hospital’s diagnostic capabilities, especially in critical situations.

The newly renovated EMS breakroom underlines the hospital’s dedication to its long-standing partnership with first responders. This improved space offers EMS teams a place to complete paperwork, recharge, and refresh between high-stress calls. John Whalen, Fire Chief of the Coral Springs-Parkland Fire Department, noted the importance of this initiative, stating, “This new breakroom creates a more welcoming space for our crews and helps them quickly reset and get back on the road serving our community.”

These advancements are set to positively impact neighborhoods throughout Coral Springs, ensuring quicker and more efficient emergency responses, ultimately enhancing the health outcomes for the community.

Broward Health Coral Springs continues to prioritize patient care and support for its dedicated emergency service teams, setting a high standard for community health services.
