In the heart of North Miami, the Haitian-American Chamber of Commerce of Florida (HACCOF) has opened applications for the 11th Annual “Top 20 Under 40” Young Haitian-American Professional (YoPro) Awards. This prestigious event recognizes outstanding young professionals, age 40 and under, who are making significant strides in their fields and communities across South Florida.

The theme for this year, “An Immigrant Story,” highlights the crucial role Haitian-Americans play in the community as doctors, educators, entrepreneurs, and more. At a time when immigration issues are increasingly contentious, HACCOF aims to celebrate the invaluable contributions of these individuals, who embody the immigrant promise of hard work and sacrifice leading to transformative success.

The YoPro Awards, now a cornerstone of the Haitian-American professional community, honor rising stars across diverse fields such as Law, Business, Health, and Politics. These young professionals carry forward a legacy of resilience and excellence, serving as both a reflection of their ancestors’ dreams and a beacon for future generations.

HACCOF Chairman Carl Momplaisir emphasizes the broader significance of these awards: “For over a decade, the YoPro Awards have stood as a testament to the extraordinary talent within our community. This year, we celebrate more than achievement. We celebrate the courage it took to get here, the immigrant parent who sacrificed without guarantee, and the young professional who answered that sacrifice with excellence.”

Applications and nominations for this year’s awards are open starting April 14, 2026. Community members are encouraged to nominate individuals who are making impactful contributions in their fields.

The Haitian-American Chamber of Commerce of Florida, established in 2005, continues to advocate for the economic and developmental needs of the Haitian-American community, promoting both investment and trade.
