Easter is being celebrated locally in a big way with free events around South Florida that are sure to keep you and your family entertained. Here are just some of the festivities that are taking place during Easter weekend.
Kicking off Easter weekend, on April 8, the City of Pompano Beach will host a free Easter egg hunt at
Annie Adderly Gillis Park, 601 Dr. Martin Luther King Blvd., Pompano Beach, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.They are set to have music, food, games, and most importantly an Easter Egg hunt for the children.
In Fort Lauderdale at Sistrunk Marketplace, an Easter Extravaganza will take place on Sunday,
April 9 at 10 a.m. Brunch will be served and two Easter egg hunts are set to take place, one at 10 a.m. for children ages 5 and under and another at 11 a.m. for children ages 6 to 10. The hunt and brunch is organized by the Sistrunk Marketplace Brewery and Food Hall, 115 NW 6 St., Fort Lauderdale.
The Oceanside Church Easter Bash in Boca Raton at Oceanside Church will be on April 8 from
12 to 3 p.m. The bash is set to have food trucks and face painting, and youngsters can line up to take pictures with the Easter Bunny. Oceanside Church is located at 9040 Kimberly Blvd., Boca Raton and the event is free.
On Saturday, April 8, The Brothers Keepers Network will host their annual Easter Egg Hunt and community BBQ bash. Bring the whole family out from 1 to 5 p.m. at Fairview Park for food, music, games, prizes, and an Easter egg hunt. Fairview Park is located at 801 SW 8 Street in Pompano Beach.
