POMPANO BEACH, FL – The City of Pompano Beach has awarded a $1 million contract to Alexander & Johnson Project Management and Development, Inc. for the construction of the Kip Jacoby Pickleball Courts, at Sgt. Kip A. Jacoby Park, 620 S. Cypress Road, marking a major investment in the city’s growing demand for recreational facilities.
The project, designed by Munson Design and Consulting, Inc., will include the installation of new pickleball courts along with necessary infrastructure to support the popular sport. The contract outlines a 150-day construction period, with completion expected within 180 days from the start date.

Pickleball, a hybrid of tennis, badminton, and ping-pong, has surged in popularity nationwide, and Pompano Beach is no exception. The expansion aims to meet the growing demand for courts, particularly as residents increasingly advocate for more public access to the sport.
