Old Town Untapped

Old Town Untapped takes place on 1st Friday of the month from 6 – 10 pm and is FREE for all ages to attend. The event is located in the heart of Downtown Pompano Beach on NE 1 Street and N. Flagler Avenue near Bailey Contemporary Arts Center, 41 NE 1st Street, Pompano Beach, FL 33060.

Upcoming Fall Schedule:

October 7 – Funkin’ Grateful

Funkin’ Grateful is comprised of music veterans from the jam band world based in South Florida. Funkin’ Grateful provides a unique and funky interpretation of the music of the Grateful Dead blended with other funky and dance oriented cover songs, bringing a high energy performance to every stage. Members hail from The Heavy Pets, Unlimited Devotion, Fusik and The Ricca Project. Guest sit ins are not uncommon.

Drawing Space
Bailey Contemporary Arts

Drawing Space is a free 2-hour activity for teens and adults in the community to spend time drawing live models in a variety of props and costumes. Participants bring their own sketchbooks and drawing materials to work on their drawings. They are welcome to share their final drawings, participate as models and bring additional props. No prior experience needed. We welcome performance art and theater students, who also want to practice their pose and prop techniques as part of Drawing Space. All levels welcome. Teens and adults only. Space is limited, registration is highly encouraged.

Soulful Sunday
Ali Cultural Arts Center

Soulful Sundays features South Florida’s top performers and bands in various genres ranging from Soul, R and B, Neo Soul, Blues to Jazz and Funk. Merging local and national artist, organizations and vendors, this program creates an unforgettable monthly musical experience that enriches as well as celebrates the history and culture of the African American community in Pompano Beach.

Lunch with Art: The Lecture Series (Virtual)

Join consultant Derek T. Davis as he guides you into the world of the Ely Family while you are enjoying your lunch! As you eat your lunch, experience a unique cultural experience that teaches Pompano Beach history and focuses on the people who made a difference in the community. Get inspired by this monthly event that will features unique informational lectures that unlock a piece of the past that may change the future. Guests are invited to bring their lunch, and a friend.

Music Under the Stars

Join us for an evening of great music and entertainment as the Parks and Recreation Department presents Music under the Stars. The music kicks off at 7:00 p.m. at the Great Lawn located at the intersection of Atlantic and Pompano Beach Boulevard. Music under the Stars will be held the second Friday of every month.

Pompano Beach Arts is proud to announce an extraordinary new concert series produced by “Generation” Venetian Arts Society (GENVAS) specifically for the Pompano Beach Cultural Center. The Bell’Arte Concert Series, in its inaugural season, will consist of four fine arts salon-style concerts, each unique in topic and genre. The impressive lineup of internationally acclaimed artists includes opera star Eglise Gutiérrez, Tony Award winner Levi Kreis, operatic and soul powerhouse Alfreda Gerald, and violin phenom Rachel Barton Pine.

The events are ticketed, and the $45.00 ticket price includes a post-concert champagne and dessert reception with the Artist.

Our Social Bunch Girls’ Night Out + charity drive on October 18th at our Socktober Sip & Shop Patio Social event at Dangerous Minds Brewing Company from 5:30-8:30. Please bring new packages of kids’ socks (ages 0-18) to donate. In Jacob’s Shoes will be there to accept your donations. It’s free to attend, but I need your RSVP: oursocialbunch@gmail.com.

Introduction to Clay – Wheel Throwing (Wednesday)

Introduction to Clay – Wheel Throwing is a bi-weekly program where students learn how to manipulate clay by using wheel throwing method. Although each session is designed to work independently, it is recommended for students to take various workshops to perfect the medium and become comfortable with the materials.

Note: At least one Hand Building workshop is pre-requisite for Wheel Throwing.

We are back in-person every 3rd Wednesday of the month. Lyrics Lab is a unique, no-ego, open-mic night. Get up and share or just kick-back and have a cocktail while enjoying some incredible performance art in one of Pompano Beach’s premier cultural arts spaces. Bring your latest work poems, verse, songs, lyrics, jokes, stories, and beats to share with renowned hosts and poets, accompanied by our Lyrics Lab house band and host Erick Carter.

5th Sundays Gospel

Come spend your fifth Sundays in fellowships with the community at the Historic Ali Cultural Arts Center. Fifth Sundays will celebrate the soul lifting power of gospel music, explore the origins of gospel music and honor its rich and nuanced musical tradition. Tickets include refreshments. Vic Robertson & South Florida Gospel Singers (SFGS)

The South Florida Gospel Singers were formed in Fort Lauderdale, Florida in 1984, and originally consisted of Rev. Victor Robertson, his brother the late Rev. Frank Robertson and cousin’s Fred and Russell Murry. They have been blessed throughout the years to have been signed with 4 other major label companies which have led to several great singles and album releases. South Florida Gospel Singers has touched audiences worldwide, and they in turn have made their impact upon the group.

Currently, South Florida Gospel singers includes Rev. Victor Robertson lead vocals, background vocals Jeff Mack, Fred Murray, Mark “Boe” also playing bass guitar and Aaron Reid background vocals and guitar. Musicians, Khareem on keyboard and Andrew on drums.

Pompano Caribbean Fest

The family-friendly event will not only include good music by DJ Mike Cooley, tasty Caribbean food, and great vibes, but will feature a live Caribbean concert experience featuring performances from Harmonik. Harmonik is one of Haiti’s most popular crossover acts, with their sounds influenced by soul, funk and kompa. Other performers include Karibbean Groove, and Samyluv-Da’Groov.

Visitors will also find handmade crafts, art and culinary products at the Market. Each Green Market date will have a different theme, creating unique and exciting experience every time you visit!

Yoga on the Great Lawn, led by Samantha Marcum, will take place from 10 – 11 am and unique shopping can be enjoyed throughout the event while you are entertained by the music of DJ Trish.
