Andscape Premieres Memphis to the Mountain on Hulu + Disney+

This story may not be rooted in Pompano, but it resonates deeply across Black communities everywhere.

Andscape’s powerful new three-part documentary, Memphis to the Mountain, follows a group of young climbers from South Memphis as they journey from the walls of their local climbing gym to the rugged 16,000-foot slopes of Mount Kenya.

Premiering September 5, 2025, on Hulu and Disney+, the series shines a light on Memphis Rox, a nonprofit gym that has become a beacon of possibility for youth in one of the city’s most overlooked neighborhoods. With guidance from climbing icons like Alex Honnold and Philip Henderson, these first-time mountaineers show that the toughest climb isn’t just the peak—it’s believing in your own potential.

The film also pays tribute to Jarmond Johnson, a beloved Memphis Rox staffer and climber featured in the series who was tragically killed after filming concluded. His legacy of humility and generosity continues to inspire those following in his path.
