POMPANO BEACH, FL — As the holiday season approached, women across Broward County found a source of hope and empowerment through the EmpowerHer Holiday Clothing Drive. This initiative, a partnership between Villij News and Jesus Cares Ministries, provided free, brand-new plus-size professional clothing to women facing challenging times.

The clothing drive, held from November 17 to November 25, aimed to support women preparing for new beginnings, offering hundreds of size-inclusive business garments. These outfits, donated by Monroe+Main, a brand under Colony Brands, ranged from sizes 16–28 and beyond, ensuring every woman felt represented and supported.

During the eight-day event, the professional attire was distributed to women connected with organizations like Women in Distress of Broward County, Mount Olive Baptist Church, Dr. Mack King Carter Enrichment Center, and Greater Works Ministry. These groups assist women dealing with domestic violence, financial hardship, and other life transitions, making the clothing drive a timely source of encouragement.

“Community is the heartbeat of Broward County,” said Attiyya Atkins, Founder and Publisher of Villij News. “These clothes weren’t just outfits; they were reminders that our community cares, that no woman walks alone, and that better days are ahead.”

Facilitated by a Monroe+Main brand liquidation, Colony Brands’ generosity allowed local ministries to extend their reach. “Because Jesus cares, we care,” said Karen Bigby, Minister of Jesus Cares Ministry. “Women walked away with renewed confidence, dignity, and joy—everything the holiday season should bring.”

The EmpowerHer Holiday Clothing Drive exemplified the impact of combining national generosity with local leadership, bringing dignity and hope to women across Pompano Beach and Greater Broward County.
