As excitement builds, BlerDCon 2026 prepares to welcome thousands of fans to Arlington, Virginia, from March 6–8. This vibrant celebration of Black nerd culture promises to blend fandom with deep cultural appreciation, creating a space where gaming, anime, film, and cosplay come alive.
Hilton George, the founder of BlerDCon, emphasized the convention’s mission: “BlerDCon was built to create a space where Black nerd culture is not only welcomed but celebrated.” This year marks the ninth installment of the popular event, showcasing the imagination and talent that define Black nerd culture.
The convention will feature main-stage appearances by renowned actress Zazie Beetz, known for her roles in “Atlanta,” “Deadpool 2,” and the upcoming thriller “THEY WILL KILL YOU,” as well as legendary hip-hop artist Redman. These star-studded appearances are set to make this year’s BlerDCon unforgettable.
Netflix joins the lineup with an official partnership, supporting “ONE PIECE: INTO THE GRAND LINE,” a live-action series based on the iconic manga franchise. Fans can look forward to interactive activations and immersive photo experiences, along with programming from major studios like Warner Bros. and Amazon MGM Studios, ensuring a diverse and authentic celebration of Black culture.
In addition to celebrity appearances, BlerDCon 2026 will host an array of events, including live performances by Regan Alliyah from “Marvel’s Ironheart” and engaging panel discussions with creators such as Carl Jones of “The Boondocks” and Tony Weaver Jr. Attendees can also enjoy advance screenings, exclusive trailers, and behind-the-scenes access.
For the first time, BlerDCon will collaborate with Black Spades, a competitive spades platform, offering workshops and tournaments that blend competition and culture. Cj Peters, Founder of Konsole Kingz and Creator of Black Spades, shared, “Spades has always been part of our culture and how we connect.”
The beloved Food Truck Row returns, featuring over 30 vendors, ensuring attendees can enjoy a diverse range of culinary delights. This year’s BlerDCon promises to be a vibrant, inclusive celebration of Black creativity and community.
