POMPANO BEACH — A man was fatally shot near the 2600 block of Northwest Sixth Street on the evening of June 26, according to the Broward Sheriff’s Office.
BSO deputies and Pompano Beach Fire Rescue responded to reports of a shooting at approximately 7:16 p.m. Emergency crews found Stanley Jennings suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Deputies detained the suspected shooter at the scene for questioning. Investigators do not believe any additional suspects were involved.
BSO’s Crime Scene and Homicide Units are actively investigating. Once the investigation is complete, the case will be presented to the Broward County State Attorney’s Office for review.
