On April 26, 2024, Governor Desantis signed CS/HB 401, a new bill about tracking devices and applications. This bill helps law enforcement enforce the laws on using tracking devices without consent. It makes it illegal to place tracking devices or apps on someone’s property without their permission. The bill also stops people from using these devices to find out where someone or their property is. Senator Martin of District 33 supports this bill, saying it protects people’s privacy in Florida.
