It’s been a year since a bullet took Destiny Bucknor’s life, and Broward Sheriff’s Office homicide detectives continue to look for her killer. Investigators are asking anyone with information on this case to come forward.

Shortly after 7:15 p.m., on Tuesday, July 4, last year, BSO deputies received a report of an adult female who was transported to a local hospital with a gunshot wound. Bucknor died at the hospital.

The preliminary investigation revealed Bucknor was a passenger in a convertible Slingshot vehicle driven by an adult male. According to detectives, they were traveling westbound on Northwest Eighth Street, and when they approached the 2900 block, an unidentified subject shot at them, striking Bucknor. A motive remains unknown.
