Fall celebrations are returning to Tamarac this October, bringing pumpkins, costumes and family-friendly entertainment to two community events.

The City of Tamarac is preparing for The Great Pumpkin Splash on Saturday, October 17, followed by Halloween Hoopla on Friday, October 23. Together, the events offer Broward County families two different ways to celebrate the Halloween season.

Great Pumpkin Splash brings fall fun to the water

The Great Pumpkin Splash will take place at the Caporella Aquatic Complex, 9300 NW 58th Street, with two sessions available:

Session 1: 10–11:30 a.m.

Session 2: Noon–1:30 p.m.

Families can enjoy pumpkin picking and decorating, balloon art, crafts and seasonal water activities. The city’s announcement also lists a pumpkin pool pit and hula hoop contests among the planned attractions. Admission is $5 per guest, and advance registration is required. Participants may register for only one session.

The event organizer notes that the children’s water activity area is closed for renovations, with water activities taking place in designated event areas. Families should review the event details before attending rather than assume all regular aquatic attractions will be available. Residents can register for The Great Pumpkin Splash through the city’s event listing. Parking is available at the aquatic complex.

Halloween Hoopla offers a free evening of festivities

The following Friday, October 23, Tamarac will host its annual Halloween Hoopla from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at the Tamarac Park Baseball Fields, 7531 North University Drive.

The free community celebration will feature trick-or-treat stations, music, live entertainment, food vendors and fall-themed arts and crafts. Children can also enjoy an activity zone with a bungee trampoline, laser tag and bounce houses. According to the city, the first 500 children will receive a free treat bag. Families are encouraged to bring reusable bags for collecting treats during the evening. Halloween Hoopla is open to the public, with event parking available at the Tamarac Recreation Center.

What families should know before attending

Although both events are designed for families, their admission arrangements are different. The Great Pumpkin Splash costs $5 per guest and requires advance registration for a selected session, while Halloween Hoopla offers free admission.

Residents planning to attend should also check the city’s website for any updates to schedules, activities or event arrangements. For additional information, visit the City of Tamarac’s Special Events page or contact the Parks and Recreation Department at 954-597-3620.
