Pompano Beach, the CRA and master developer RocaPoint Partners announced that Suffolk was selected to construct the new City Hall and parking garage anchoring the New Downtown project. The city describes the broader redevelopment as a proposed $2 billion, four-million-square-foot mix of residential, retail, hotel, office and civic space.

Two New Downtown job fairs announced for local workers and businesses
Confirmed: Suffolk, the city, CRA and RocaPoint will hold two sessions containing the same information:
- Wednesday, August 19, 6–8 p.m., E. Pat Larkins Community Center, 520 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.
- Thursday, August 20, 10 a.m.–noon, Emma Lou Olson Center, 1801 NE Sixth Street.
The sessions are intended for residents, suppliers, vendors, trade contractors and construction professionals. The city advises attendees to bring resumes, licenses, certifications, capability statements and scopes of service.

Pompano Opens Proposals Thursday for Old Town Restaurant

The city will open proposals for RFP26-043 at 2 p.m. Thursday, August 6. The solicitation seeks a developer/operator to design, fund, maintain and operate a restaurant at 11 NE First Street in the Old Town Arts and Entertainment District. An evaluation committee meeting is scheduled for August 27. The operator could affect nightlife, local hiring and foot traffic around the Ali Cultural Center and Old Town venues.
Last day to Request a Vote-by-Mail Ballot in Broward
Thursday at 5 p.m. Is Broward’s Vote-by-Mail Request Deadline. Early voting runs August 8–16, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Mail ballots must reach the Supervisor of Elections by 7 p.m. August 18.
