13-Year-Old Shot in Pompano Beach Search for Suspect Underway

POMPANO BEACH – Broward Sheriff’s Office deputies are searching for a suspect after a 13 year old boy was shot Wednesday, May 6, near Northwest 14th Street and Third Avenue in Pompano Beach.

Authorities said the teen suffered a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the leg and was transported to Broward Health Medical Center for treatment. The shooting happened shortly before 2:30 p.m., prompting a large law enforcement response in the neighborhood.

Residents expressed concern following the incident, with parents calling the violence troubling and heartbreaking for the community. The investigation remains ongoing.
