NORTH MIAMI — The vibrant cultural celebration known as the Soup and Champagne All White Affair returns for its 7th edition in North Miami on January 1, 2026. Held at NoMi Village, this annual event marks Haitian Independence Day with an evening of music, elegance, and tradition.
Central to the celebration is the serving of Soup Joumou, a dish deeply rooted in Haitian history. On January 1, 1804, Haiti declared its independence from French colonial rule, marking the only successful slave revolt to result in a sovereign state. Soup Joumou, once forbidden to the enslaved, became a symbol of freedom and pride after independence.
“We are thrilled to bring the community together for the 7th year to honor the legacy of Haitian Independence,” said Jones Pierre, co-founder of the event. “This is more than just a party; it’s a celebration of our resilience and heritage.”
The event, which begins at 6 p.m., promises a memorable experience with Haitian music, cuisine, art, and performances. For the first time in North Miami, the renowned artist Ruthshelle Guillaume will perform live, joined by Alan Cave. Celebrity hosts Tico Armand and Mecca, also known as Grimo, will lead the evening, accompanied by a live band and DJs Whiskey Chic and Teddy Mix.
Presented by Jones Pierre & Morhanges “Haitian Poohbear,” in collaboration with the City of North Miami Vice Mayor Kassandra Timothe, the affair aims to elevate Haitian culture and foster community connections. Sponsors include Chris Torrez Injury Law Firm and the Greater Miami Conventions & Visitors Bureau.

Tickets and further information are available at www.soupandchampagne.com. Attendees are encouraged to dress in their finest white attire and join this celebration of cultural heritage and community spirit.
